Regional Science Consortium - Presque Isle State Park

 

Project Description

On Tuesday, May 20, 2008 the water quality buoy was deployed at Presque Isle State Park off Beach 2. This joint venture between the Regional Science Consortium, PA DEP, PA Sea Grant, and PA DCNR will provide data for the E. coli predictive model used on the swimming beaches of Presque Isle. This buoy will report real-time data on water temperature, water conductivity, pH, turbidity, and dissolved oxygen.

There are two weather stations, one located on the Tom Ridge Environmental Center (TREC) tower and one on Presque Isle State Park on Beach 2. The buoy and weather stations offer 24/7 instant access to project data using any web browser.
